While we are constantly expanding our service area, we
currently serve Alexandria, Old Town Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Beverly Hills, Del Ray,
Dunn Loring, Falls Church, Kingstowne, McLean, Merrifield, Tyson's Corner and Springfield. If you are in the Northern
Virginia area contact us even if your neighborhood/city is not on our current service area list.
How do I hire Dog Day Afternoons for my pet(s)?
The best way to get started is to contact us by phone or e-mail to request a free initial consultation
in your home. To make this process efficient, all the information you need to set the appointment
and understand our policies and the information we need you to provide us is available on our
so our first consultation can be mostly devoted to customizing a pet care plan that works for you, your family, and of course, your pet(s).
Why do you need so much information?
We keep a profile on every home and pet we visit. The profile includes important information including walk schedule, feeding schedule,
your contact information, veterinary information, general and unique information about your pet(s) and much more. This information is then
provided to our caregivers. We ask that the information be kept current so we can keep pace with any
changes in your or your pet’s routine(s). Importantly, while we do collect information, we also have a strong privacy policy. All of the information we collect will be to assure that we can contact you if we have the need and to facilitate the billing process. I need to schedule a visit for TODAY, can you help me??
If you are already an existing client of Dog Day Afternoons, Inc. we will do the best we can to accommodate your same day requests.
We do have a 24 hour notice policy which applies to scheduling a visit and same day requests will be evaluated on a case by case
basis but we assure you we will do all we can to help you out!!
Why do you ask for two sets of my keys?
Dog Day Afternoons Inc. keeps two sets of keys on file in case we ever run into a problem with your caregiver (i.e. an illness, vacation, or need to be out of town).
One set of keys goes to your regular caregiver, but having an extra set of keys assures that your pet will be taken care of no matter what may arise.
Are you insured?
For your protection and ours, Dog Day Afternoons, Inc. is licensed, bonded and insured by multiple policies that cover our company and caregivers alike.
How do you choose your caregivers?
Our primary goal is to ensure the safety and security of our clients, their pet(s) and their property. Our walkers and sitters undergo extensive background
checks and a screening process before coming on board. In addition, Dog Day Afternoons, Inc. provides meticulous training for all caregivers before
putting them on any assignment.
